Epos Sennheiser Game One Headset In-depth Review
The Epos Sennheiser Game One Headset isn’t a headset that many know about. I was sceptical about it at first. Though, it did look good and there were many comments that led me to believe that this could potentially be an amazing gaming headset. So I bought it, and came to the conclusion that this is a very unique headset.
The Game One headset has just a bit of everything that you would find on an older, and newer headset. Its older features make the modern hints more appreciated. The XXL plush velvet ear cushions along with the headband provides impeccable comfort. Also not to forget, the thick plastic exterior makes for great durability.
Much of the technology inside of this headset is up to date. However, the controls seemed older. There wasn’t anything else to it except for a pull down microphone, and a volume wheel. It definitely felt old fashion. But, the headset altogether felt exceptionally new.
The Game One headset certainly showcased its broad potential of having one of the best sounding audio in a headset. The headset produces pin point acoustics making sure that you can hear everything within your game.
The best part is that this headphone is compatible for Xbox, Playstation, Pc, Nintendo Switch, and Mac. I appreciate the fact that this headphone is multi compatible for the reason that a lot of the newer headset models focus on being for one console.
So make sure to try out this outstanding headset.
A little more about the Headset-
The Sennheiser Game One headset is supplied with XXL plush velvet ear cushions, and headband. The open design allows for cool comfort and a light fit. Then, on the right side of the ear cups you’ll find an integrated volume control. This allows for fast finger-tip control.
Following that on the left side is the Pro noise-cancelling microphone. It has a flexible boom arm that makes it easy to adjust and is best for voice pick-up. The simple design minimizes background noises. Also all you need to mute the microphone is to lift up the microphone.
The headset is also equipped with accurate game sound reproduction using “E.A.R” technology or Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement. This headset is also wired so in your package you will receive exchangeable cables.
(The headset does not swivel which isn’t a problem. The headset can move inwards and outwards if needed.) The headset also weighs around 1 pound.
Comfort-
This headset has its highs and lows. However, with the comfort it was in between. The headband was really nice due to the fact that it had the xxl velvet padding. It was super soft and didn’t feel bad at all. One thing that I wish could change was the velvet material only for the fact that it picked up little bits of dust and I would have to clean it every once in a while.
The ear cushions felt fine, though the clamping force on this headset was too strong for my preference. Sadly this made the headset less fun to use after some time. The ear cushions would also get warm and become somewhat of a distraction.
If these problems hadn’t occurred, the headset would have been one hundred percent fine for comfort. It’s unfortunate because every other factor to this headset was amazing but sadly the clamping force was too strong.
The more I used the headset, the more I got used to it. Within 2 weeks the headset started to fit me nicely and more airflow was able to go throughout the headset. However, when first using it, it could become uncomfortable.
Another downfall with the ear cushions is that they don’t come off. Meaning that they are not swappable.
Durability-
Let me tell you, comfort might not have lived up to what I expected, but the durability definitely exceeded my expectations. The materials used to make this headset have been tested to ensure long term durability. The hard plastic exterior will ensure that nothing breaks. You can tell just by holding it that it’s not bad, or cheap plastic.
Even the microphone is protected with this strong plastic. So no time soon will your microphone or headset break.
With the plastic protecting the microphone it can’t move closer to your mouth. So once you pull it down that’s the closest it can be. Nevertheless, it’s not a problem because the microphone can thankfully pick up noise from the distance in which it sits.
Microphone-
This was the best feature of the headset. There were many good things to this headset, but nothing stood out more than this. Out of all my gaming headset reviews this one never cut out, disconnected, or gave me any trouble. The boom mic did an amazing job cancelling out all the background noises.
If you’re someone who plays with friends online almost all the time then, this headset has the best mic for that.
Cost-
The Epos Sennheiser Game One headset is going for around $120 dollars on amazon! This is a super good deal for the fact that a lot of the new headsets that are coming out cost around $200-$300 dollars!
Though, the big question is, is this headset just as good as a $200 dollar one? For the most part Yes! The sound quality, durability, and amazing microphone status all hold up to be just as good. The only thing holding it back is the clamping force.
For the quality that this headset puts forward it surely feels affordable.
What are other people saying-
There’s a lot of things to this headset that will make you love it, but they’re are also some things that will make you dislike it. But, how do other people feel about this headset? Is it good, or bad? Well…
According to Gamesradar.com they title the subject “Epos Sennheiser Game One Review: Excellent audio, but lacking in features’ “. I definitely do agree with the title. All though the headset is great, it does have some things that could be changed to improve on the model. I truly think that everyone that has used this headset could agree.
However, even with the flaws that it has it still seems to go on too many peoples top list of headsets including my own. Why is this? It’s because even with the minor flaws it still has way better qualities that overthrow the existence of the flaws. The headset might have a high clamping force, but when the audio emerges it immerses you so much that you stop noticing the clamp. This is the same with another flaw that this headset might have.
Nevertheless, at the end of the day it’s all about preference. Some people love this headset, some say it’s ok, and others don’t like it at all. I personally love this headset and would definitely suggest it to anyone who’s looking for some new headphones. A lot of the time it’s a hit or miss with these types of headsets but it’s worth a try.

Overall-
The Epos Sennheiser Game One started with me questioning it. It looked like a fairly normal headset but I didn’t think it would be anything special. However, after some time using it and testing all of its features I was wrong. I can now conclude saying that this headphone will definitely give you an astounding gaming experience. The sound comes through remarkable and the microphone is just amazing. Compared to other headphones I was able to hear more things in game than I usually would be able to. Giving me a higher win rate!
With the microphone never giving me problems such as it cutting out, or not picking up what I said it does feel like a newer, high tech mic. In addition to that, the simple design was refreshing from all the newer tech that’s been going around.
After all of this the price has also shocked me. Usually with a headphone like this it would cost around $150 dollars. So it being at the price that it’s at, makes it a bargain. With the headset also having multi-compatibility it’s really for anyone.
This headset was so good I put it on my top 10 list for best gaming headset! So please try it out for yourself.
